Kia Lorece Smith is a Regional Supplier Quality Manager for Boeing Defense, Space and Security. Kia is responsible for a team of 10 engineers that supports over 200 total suppliers in the California Region and international sub-tier suppliers providing parts to Boeing for manufacturing military aircraft, satellites, and space vehicles. Prior to Boeing, Kia held program management and engineering roles at Eaton Aerospace Corporation, Raytheon and NASA Ames Research Center. Kia directly impacted over $60M for programs such as: CST- Starliner Space Vehicle, Wideband Global Satcom (WGS), ViaSat and Other 3 Billion (O3B), F15, F18, VC-25B, and MQ-25.


Kia’s accomplishments include: 2026 BEYA Science Spectrum Trailblazer Awardee, 2025 Southern University 40 Under 40 Awardee, 2024 Boeing Champion Award for Safety and Quality, 2024 Blazing Pearl Awardee for the Divine Nine Awards, 2024 Black Girls Do Engineer SEEN Figures Award, 2024 Black Engineer of the Year Future Leaders Workshop, 2022 Society of Women Engineers Emerging Leader Award, 2022 Black Engineer of the Year Modern Day Technology Award and the 2021 Women of Color Rising Star Award. Kia is also a co-creator of BLEND – a Boeing Retention Program for people of color impacting over 300 professionals, the creator of the www.BillyandJuanitaSmith.com HBCU scholarship, the host of @TheWorldofKia Podcast, the author of the book How to Love Yourself, and a co-author for The HBCU Experience- Southern University 2nd Edition.


Kia is from Zachary, LA, a graduate of Southern University A&M College, a Pepperdine University MBA, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kia hosts a podcast on www.theworldofkia.com where she highlights the black excellence in her life.
