Kia Smith, a proud alumna of Southern University and A&M College, has been featured in the Southern University Alumni Federation's (SUAF) Alumni Spotlight, celebrating her remarkable journey from a Jaguar legacy to a leader in the aerospace industry.As a native of Zachary, Louisiana, Kia's academic and professional achievements reflect her dedication and the values instilled during her time at Southern University.She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics and later obtained an MBA from Pepperdine University.Currently, Kia serves as a Regional Supplier Quality Manager for Boeing Defense, Space, and Security, overseeing 157 suppliers in the Los Angeles area.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kia is deeply committed to giving back.She co-created BLEND, a Boeing retention program for people of color, and founded the Billy and Juanita Smith Scholarship.An advocate for self-love and empowerment, she authored "How to Love Yourself" and co-authored "The HBCU Experience: The Southern University System 2nd Edition."Her recognition by SUAF not only honors her personal achievements but also highlights the enduring impact of Southern University's alumni in various fields.
